Redwood County approves IT contracts, licenses and sheriff equipment purchases; accepts $330 K9 donation

Redwood County commissioners approved several vendor contracts, license renewals and equipment purchases during their Jan. 21, 2025 meeting.
Technology: On a motion by Commissioner Dennis Groebner, seconded by Commissioner Corey Theis, the Board approved a Morris Electronics support contract for $14,808, an SHI Office 365 and Master Service Agreement for $26,843 and a maintenance contract with Data CSI/VERTIF for $2,814.68. The Board approved funding of the SHI agreement from the 2024 Technology budget.
Sheriff and corrections: Sheriff Jason Jacobson advised the Board that the county would receive a 2025 MN DNR Federal Boating Equipment Grant of $604, which the Board approved. The Board also adopted a resolution accepting a $330 donation from the family and friends of Joann Dolezal to support the Sheriff’s Office K9 program and/or equipment. The Board approved purchase of exercise equipment for the jail from TriActive USA for $8,363 to be funded from the canteen account.
Licenses and haulers: The Board approved the 2025 liquor license for Lower Sioux Community dba Dacotah Ridge Golf Club; approved 2025 tobacco licenses for MN Stores LLC dba Snak Atak #57 and for Lower Sioux Community dba Dacotah Ridge Golf Club (the Board specified how prior citations will be recorded and applied under County Ordinance Chapter 112); and approved 2025 solid waste hauler licenses for CMF and The Picker-Uppers LLC.
Road & Bridge and procurement: The Board approved Road & Bridge bills of $70,945.79, a final pay request to 23-4 Design Electric, Inc. for $9,944.37, an out-of-state travel request for employee Matt Guetter for $716.39, and a purchase of crack seal material from White Cap LP at $0.635 per pound plus freight.
Personnel: The Board approved submission of the 2025 Pay Equity Report, acknowledged the resignation of Correctional Officer Priscilla Wheeler Vetsouvanh effective Jan. 31, 2025, and approved a compensation study/market analysis for $15,000 and job evaluation at $200 per description with DDA Human Resources, Inc.
