Redwood County commissioners approve $9.4 million in December disbursements and transfer $535,424 in 2024 interest

Chair Rick Wakefield called the Redwood County Board of Commissioners to order on Jan. 21, 2025, and the Board approved the meeting agenda before taking routine financial actions.
On a motion by Commissioner Jim Salfer, seconded by Commissioner Corey Theis, the Board approved the consent agenda and Auditor/Treasurer Jean Price presented December 2024 disbursements totaling $9,425,779.14 along with cash balance, investment and budget reports.
The Board also approved transfers of 2024 interest from the General Fund to Road & Bridge ($414,630.44), Solid Waste ($68,735.38) and the Insurance Fund ($52,058.32), a total transfer of $535,424.14, on a motion by Commissioner Salfer and second by Commissioner Bob Van Hee.
The financial approvals were unanimous. The Board had no conflicts of interest to disclose at the start of the meeting.
The Board additionally approved bills exceeding routine thresholds and several fund- and contract-related payments as recorded in the meeting minutes; details were provided by Auditor/Treasurer Jean Price and County Administrator Vicki Kletscher. The meeting adjourned at 10:56 a.m.
