Foxboro school committee elects new chair, names subcommittee members and accepts donations

The Foxboro School Committee completed its annual reorganization on May 13, unanimously electing Nathan Man as chair and Pat Magcguire as vice chair. The committee then appointed members to subcommittees and selected a representative to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) building committee.

During the roll call for chair the committee recorded affirmative votes; after the vote the outgoing chair handed the meeting over to Man. The committee also nominated and approved members for the policy subcommittee and the budget subcommittee and reappointed a liaison to the recreation department.

Members then accepted several donations by motion and unanimous vote: two checks from the estate of Raymond McKenna directed to the music and drama departments ($1,442 each), a $2,500 donation from the Music Drives Us Foundation to the music department, a $500 Safe Celebration Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to support high‑school dance transportation, and a $500 donation from the American Red Cross to the high‑school scholarship program.
