Public Works Manager Daniel Torres told the Measure Z Oversight Advisory Committee that the city will transition its reservations to CivicRec (integrated with the CivicPlus website) and launch a ClickFix service-request app to let residents report issues directly to staff.
Torres said the reservation platform will allow routine gazebo reservations to be booked quickly online, while larger uses that require insurance (for example, bounce houses or large field rentals) will continue to require staff review and approval. On ClickFix, Torres said residents will be able to upload photos and service requests so staff can track and respond.
He also described a small capital improvement at Windsong Park: staff will pour a concrete pad next to an existing portable restroom to mount a hand-wash station and a trash receptacle. Torres confirmed the portable restroom to be used is ADA-compliant.
Torres announced two temporary-event permits at Maro O'Brien Park: an antique and classic car show on May 30, organized by the Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation and expected to include close to 200 vehicles; and a WAR 1K/5K/10K run on June 6 with roughly 200 registered participants and a start at Maro O'Brien Park. Staff said both events have been permitted and staff are preparing the site.
Committee members asked how quickly residents could make same-day reservations using the new platform; staff replied that simple gazebo bookings can be made quickly but reservations requiring proof of insurance or additional review will need staff approval. Torres said staff will finalize software configuration and return to council with any final contract items as needed.
