Village staff presented third-quarter financial results and infrastructure updates at the Nov. 17 council meeting, reporting stronger-than-expected revenues and significant progress on water-loss reduction.
Assistant Village Manager Alicia D. told council total revenues across funds were about $14.5 million (roughly 86% of the $16.9 million annual budget) and that expenditures year-to-date were running below budget. Treasurer Judy reported $16.17 million in active investments and $167,393 interest earned in Q3.
On utilities, staff said multiyear efforts reduced unaccounted water loss from roughly 40% of system production to about 20% (from approximately 40 million gallons to about 20 million gallons annually). The village credited meter replacements, hydrant correlators and more aggressive leak detection with finding both small and large leaks; staff said the reductions will produce ongoing operational savings and reduced homeowner bills where leaks are caught.
Council voted to approve the quarterly financial report. Staff said work continues to replace meters, coordinate grant-funded projects and bring a final infrastructure plan forward for projects tied to recently approved financing tools.
