Autumn Greset, contract administrator with the Parks Department, recommended on May 26 that the city award the janitorial services contract to SMS Cleaning as the lowest responsible bidder and authorize the mayor to execute the contract.
Greset said the total contract amount is $324,000 and that SMS Cleaning’s bid equates to about $108,000 per year, which she said would save the city roughly $50,000 annually compared with the existing contract.
"We went out to bid and received several bids. SMS Cleaning was the lowest at about 108,000 per year which saves us $50,000 annually over our current contract," Greset said.
The committee moved and seconded a motion to forward the proposed award and authorization to execute the contract to the June 2, 2026 consent agenda; the motion carried by voice vote.
Next steps: The award will appear on the June 2 consent agenda for council approval.
