Edinburgh Police Pension Board approves forwarding 10 officer pension packets to state review

The Edinburgh Police Pension Board voted July 21 to approve and forward 10 officers' pension packets to the state review board for final review.

The board read the list of applicants into the record and approved sending the complete packets to the state entity referenced in the meeting as the "77 board." The Chair said the local board's approval is the first step and the state board performs the final review. The packets include confidential medical information that the board said cannot be circulated because of HIPAA rules; board members were offered only the packet summaries in the public packet.

Treasurer Hector Mcato was identified to sign the forms, and the board authorized two additional signatures including Committee member Sean Pendleton and a board member identified as Dave to complete the required signatories before submission. The Chair said the intent was to approve all 10 applications at once unless a member objected; no objections were raised and the batch motion passed on a voice vote.

Board members also noted a delay in related actuary work; one form remains under legal review and the actuary's responses have been delayed by mandatory training, the board said.

The board did not provide a detailed vote tally on the record beyond a voice approval. The packets approved were read on the record as: Sean Kelsey; Hector Mcato; Roy Sturgeon; Ryan Foy; Darren Kors; Perry Temple; Clayton Imbry; Skyler Condra; Sean Pendleton; and Raina Bos (alternate spellings appear in the record). The board indicated it will submit the signed forms to the state review board and expects individual communications to applicants after that review.
