The Canton town and village boards completed several routine actions at their March 12 joint meeting.
The board approved minutes for the regular meeting of Jan. 15, the joint meeting of Jan. 29 and the regular meeting of Feb. 12 by voice vote. The board then approved expenditures after audit-committee numbers were read aloud and accepted department reports by voice vote.
Board members reported completion of audits for the clerk's office, tax collector and supervisor offices; the board passed a resolution to enter those audit reports into the minutes for March 12, 2025 and authorized sending copies to the state. The resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Toward the end of the meeting the board voted to go into executive session to discuss labor negotiations, solar negotiations, a contract identified as the "Slick agreement," and noted an individual (listed in the transcript as bill youan) would join by phone.
No roll-call tallies with member names were recorded in the public transcript; motions were approved by voice vote or consensus where noted.
