Canton Chamber introduces new community coordinator Abigail

Ben Dixon, director of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, introduced Abigail on March 12 after announcing she joined chamber staff in mid-February as the Canton community coordinator and communications specialist. "I'm really excited to be on board here," Abigail said, adding she grew up in Lisbon and studied communication in college.
Dixon told the town board Abigail has already taken charge of the chamber's social media and outreach work: she created a new Instagram page, produced an e-blast to businesses and posted Winterfest raffle winners. Dixon said Abigail is supporting several county initiatives, including promotion for the Dairy Festival, workforce engagement with the local school of engineering (a March 20 tour) and a county tourism dinner planned for June 4.
The chamber said recent Winterfest activities included more than 50 events and a business after-hours; staff described steady outreach to local organizations. Dixon invited Abigail to stay for the joint board meeting and the board welcomed the new staffer.
The chamber plans to present additional event timelines and promotional details at upcoming meetings and through its new channels. The board did not take any action specific to the hire at the March 12 session.
