The council approved an annual resolution confirming city appointments to regional boards and joint-government entities and completed several assignment changes on Jan. 20. The mayor outlined positions on the Camino Rail Regional Utility Authority (CRUA), South Central Solid Waste Authority and the South Central Regional Transit District and asked councilors to volunteer for specific seats; the council adopted the listed appointments by unanimous vote.
During the same session, the council opened nominations for mayor pro tem. Councilor Deas nominated Councilor Theas, who accepted, and the council confirmed Councilor Theas by acclamation. The mayor said the mayor pro tem role carries no additional salary and assumes the mayor’s duties only in the mayor’s absence or incapacity.
