Township staff previews October review and outreach for comprehensive plan

Township planning staff told the East Lampeter Township Planning Commission that a rough draft of the comprehensive plan has been shared with the steering committee and that staff expects to present materials to the commission before its October meeting.
Staff said the draft currently is not lengthy and that an executive summary is expected to accompany the plan. The township will promote public engagement via the fall newsletter and an online survey posted on the township's Facebook page; staff said an additional public engagement meeting will be scheduled, but a date had not yet been set.
Jacob Bowen, the township director of planning and zoning, emphasized that the commission will have an opportunity to provide comments and potentially make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors at the October meeting. "We are going to be expecting to have something for you guys to review before the October planning commission meeting," staff said.
The preview was informational; no formal action was taken and staff asked commissioners to be prepared to review the draft when it arrives later in the fall.
