Committee hears update on bullying-audit scope, Georgetown talks and MSBA timetable

Chair Adrian told the committee that the superintendent is developing options for a scope of work for an audit of the district’s bullying, harassment and non-discrimination procedures, and that staff are ‘‘socializing’’ the initial work to determine next steps before bringing options back to the committee.
Adrian also noted ongoing conversations with Georgetown about possible arrangements for Georgetown students, with Bill (committee member) leading district coordination on that front.
On capital planning, members discussed the MSBA schematic-design authorization tied to Topsfield’s upcoming special town meeting and election: Topsfield has a special town meeting scheduled for June 16 and a ballot on June 17 that may include a debt-exclusion vote needed for MSBA project authorization. The committee was advised that MSBA paperwork is due by July 1 and that Mike (consultant) is monitoring Topsfield outcomes while the district completes required filings.
Brad Denton was introduced as the interim point of contact during the superintendent transition while the outgoing superintendent (Dr. Harvey) finishes remaining duties; Brad acknowledged he will act as the administration’s on-table liaison for committee requests.
The committee did not take formal action on the audit scope or Georgetown arrangements at this meeting; the chair asked staff to return with concrete options once internal clarifications are complete.
