Student advisory reports on graduations, MCAS and spring sports

Evan Sano, the newly elected Student Advisory Board (SAB) at-large representative, updated the Masconomet Regional School District School Committee on student activities and calendars.
Sano said the senior prom on May 20 at the Danvers Yacht Club was “pretty successful,” that sophomores completed MCAS testing last week, and that the Memorial Day assembly drew about 15 veterans with Mr. Maziac as the main speaker. He noted senior graduation is scheduled for Friday and that students are preparing for finals beginning on the 12th (date given in the update).
On athletics, Sano reported baseball finished the season 12-8, softball was 11-6 and made the playoffs, boys lacrosse finished 8-10 and missed the playoffs by one seed, girls lacrosse entered postseason play, tennis reached state competition, and track and field won the NEC championships.
The student representative closed by reminding the committee of upcoming events including Relay for Life and the freshman walk.
The SAB update was offered at the start of the committee meeting as an informational report; no committee action was required.
