No written comments or public speakers offered opposition or alternatives during the hearing, and the board closed the hearing at 9:15 a.m.
The board then moved, by motion of Supervisor Cerwinske and seconded by Supervisor Suckow, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 05-26-26-33 approving the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated total cost for the project. The resolution notes the estimated total cost exceeds $206,000 and states that notice requirements under Iowa Code section 26.12 were followed; the roll call vote was Ayes: Cerwinske, Suckow, Breitbach, Carter, Hackman.
Custodian Dave Gorman told the board the current courthouse windows are "maybe in the 1970s," a detail the board recorded as context for replacement. The minutes state the detailed project document is on file at the Auditor's office and available on the county website.
