The council unanimously authorized the parish president to sign a cooperative endeavor agreement to distribute state/local opioid litigation funds for a youth-focused opioid remediation program run in partnership with the Albany Police Department and local youth organizations. Glenn Leornne, the parish OPR director, said the multi-day summer program is expected to involve roughly 400 children with parents and guardians, focusing on drug education and prevention.
Separately, the council appointed All South Consulting Engineering LLC as labor compliance officer for the parish's Flood Risk Reduction Drainage Project B, funded through the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Mitigation program, and appointed the parish HR coordinator to manage EEO functions required by the grant. Both appointments passed unanimously.
