The representative said the district’s boundary changes over the years required careful drafting of the ballot language so voters see the correct county-specific wording.
County commissioners agreed to a revised resolution prepared with the county prosecutor and approved it by roll call. The resolution declares the necessity to renew the levy under Ohio law and directs staff to coordinate with the county prosecutor and board of elections on ballot language and timelines.
If the board’s action leads to a ballot placement, the measure will ask voters to renew funding for mental-health and recovery services for 10 years at a rate of 0.7 mills. The board representative noted levy revenues stay in the county where collected and will support services administered regionally and locally.
Next steps include finalizing ballot language and filing required materials with the county board of elections and county auditor so the levy can proceed to a voter referendum.
