Police report serious injury at Rally Point; Select Board schedules alcohol‑violation hearing

Foxborough's police chief told the Select Board on April 29 that investigators concluded a March incident at the Rally Point involved an altercation after which one patron was hospitalized and remains paralyzed, and that evidence shows staff did not notify police and patrons left the premises with alcohol.
"On March 22nd, the Fox Police received a call from Milford Police Department in regards to a party that had been injured...one of the things where patrons were seen...leaving the bar with alcohol in their hands," the chief said, summarizing the department's findings and the basis for liquor‑license violation allegations.
The chief asked the board to vote to schedule an alcohol‑violation hearing; board members and counsel noted the licensee is entitled to due process and that any immediate suspension requires legal steps. The board moved to set a hearing and discussed the legal advertising and notice timelines; members expressed a preference for the earliest feasible date while meeting statutory notice requirements.
The department said it is also pursuing criminal charges against individuals involved in the altercation, but those criminal matters are separate from the licensing hearing. The board did not take disciplinary action at the meeting beyond scheduling the administrative hearing.
