Rally Point liquor-license hearing continued to March 4 amid unpaid taxes

The Select Board, acting as the local licensing authority under Mass. Gen. Laws Chapter 138, opened a hearing on Feb. 4 to consider suspension or revocation of the Rally Point’s (TN Walker Inc.) alcoholic-beverage license for nonpayment of taxes.
Town staff said a recent payment reduced the outstanding balance (staff reported a remaining balance in the record). Owner Omari Walker told the board that management changes and declining sales had strained the business but that recent operational changes produced an uptick and he expects to be current within roughly a month. Staff and the board discussed options including suspension, revocation or continuing the hearing to allow time for payment.
On the owners’ representations and staff’s recommendation that the board monitor progress, the Select Board voted to continue the public hearing to March 4 at 7:05 p.m. for a status update and possible decision on remedies or payment arrangements.
If the board finds the licensee has not made meaningful progress by the March hearing, the board may consider suspension, revocation, payment plans or other remedies under state law.
