Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission approves agenda, schedules June 9 meeting and reports staffing update

The Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission on May 26 approved the evening’s agenda and the minutes from the May 12, 2026 meeting, agreed to hold its next regular meeting on June 9, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 300 East Superstition Boulevard, and received a staffing update from city staff.
Vice Chair Barker moved to accept the agenda and approve the May 12 minutes; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with commissioners recorded as voting yes. A second motion to set the commission’s next regular meeting for June 9, 2026 was made and seconded and also carried on a roll-call vote with all commissioners recorded as yes.
During the director’s report, staff member Rudy said the city recently conducted interviews for a new code compliance manager, identified a strong candidate and intends to make an offer; staff said it plans to introduce the new hire at a future meeting. The commission adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
