The restroom discussion is linked to separate planning for playground and pavilion work at the site.
Separately, staff reviewed options for the rear tennis courts. A recent proposal recommended relayering rather than full refurbishment. Participants discussed tradeoffs between converting more court area to painted pickleball courts (up to six) and keeping a smaller expansion to four playable surfaces. An engineer’s recommendation cited two dedicated pickleball courts with two hybrid courts; staff favored a smaller increase to reduce spacing and circulation issues and to limit noise impacts.
No binding procurement or construction vote was taken; staff said they will obtain complete proposals and follow up with the board on scope, budget and timeline.
