Food-truck operators ask Lower Makefield board to formalize park permitting

At the meeting, vendor Joseph Gazang described decades of vending at schools and parks and asked to be permitted to park near Kids Kingdom, the Gaga court and ballfields while avoiding placement at the pool entrance. Township staff member Rob said the township will permit vending at parks and playgrounds except at locations with operating snack stands and that vendors approved to drive the lot should park by Kids Kingdom so pool and court users can see them. Rob said the township will send a permit form for final approval.
Another vendor, Adiv Mustafa (known as Eddie), said his truck is fully permitted through the county health department and that his priority is safe access for children; he said he prefers to be visible near gates but acknowledged the township's rules will govern exact placement. Rob reiterated that vendors would not be allowed to park at the pool gate and that permits must be completed before operations begin.
Why it matters: seasonal vendors have been an informal feature at township fields and playgrounds and can provide refreshments for families and seniors, but the board must balance vendor access with existing concession operations and public-safety considerations.
