Beachbrook team presents school-based mental-health work; board hears usage, caseload and survey data

The Beachbrook team described services provided inside schools: one-to-one informal counseling, small-group interventions (friendship, stress management, female empowerment groups), classroom social-emotional lessons, staff consultation, and family support and referrals. Staff explained the model is intentionally flexible and low-barrier: referring counselors or administrators submit a referral and parents provide consent; services can continue year-to-year while the student is enrolled.
Beachbrook reported summary caseload numbers (approximately 365 active cases at the time of the presentation) and survey results: among responding parents and students, a large majority reported feeling comfortable with and helped by their Beachbrook worker; staff surveys showed high trust in the program and a willingness to refer students. Presenters emphasized that services reduce barriers to outside mental-health care by providing timely support inside school.
Board members asked whether Beachbrook’s school-based support can be billed to medical insurance; Beachbrook staff clarified that the work presented is not formal therapy (it is a school-based support model) and therefore billing to insurance is not the standard for these embedded services. The presentation closed with a short video and a request for continued community support; directors noted Beachbrook’s annual fundraising activities.
The board thanked the Beachbrook team; no formal action was required. Administrators and Beachbrook staff said they will continue to coordinate and provide updates to the board.
