The consultant explained the plan is intended as a living document with a software tool to track remediation work and department assignments. Many identified items are maintenance‑level fixes (for example, restroom door closers or misplaced coat hooks) that could be corrected quickly; larger accessibility changes would be phased over multiple years. The plan’s recommended phasing spans roughly a 10‑fiscal‑year window with an initial Phase 1 period of about five years for highest‑priority work.
Town staff said the complete draft transition plan will be posted for public review and a future meeting could consider formal adoption; once the plan is final, the town will be eligible to apply for grants to fund barrier removal projects. Board members thanked staff and the consultant for completing the work under a tight timeline.
