Wormtown's Patriot Place location sold to Be Hoppy/Jax Abbey; Select Board approves license transfer

The Foxborough Select Board voted July 16 to approve the transfer of a farmer‑series and malt‑beverage‑only pouring permit for Wormtown Brewery’s Patriot Place location from Wormtown Brewery LLC to Be Hoppy Brewery LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jax Abbey Brewing.
Attorney Tyler Hensler, representing the buyer, told the board the sale includes the Wester (home base) and Patriot Place locations and that most operations will remain the same: “most if not all of the operation will remain the same — the same brands, recipes, same beer,” he said. Sam Hendler, a Jax Abbey founder and the proposed manager of record for the Foxboro site, was present and described his industry experience and familiarity with the Commonwealth’s licensing rules.
Hensler said the parties are working with the ABCC to minimize any service interruptions during licensing transfers. The board opened and closed the public hearing, then voted to approve the transfer by roll call; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
