Dodge County supervisors unanimously adopted the county’s 2025–2026 budget on Sept. 17 and set the county tax request at $14,430,834, a tax rate of $0.220731 per $100 of assessed value. The board said the county remains below the LB644 statutory limit and will not participate in the joint public hearing scheduled Sept. 18, 2025.
The action followed a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke in support or opposition to setting the tax rate different from the prior year. Supervisor Bendig read the budget resolution for the record and the Board authorized the necessary signatures to finalize adoption.
The Board also certified $1,863,398.48 in unused property tax request authority to carry forward into future budgets and adopted a separate resolution approving transfers outlined in the 2025–2026 County Budget. County officials said the certification preserves available levy authority for future fiscal planning.
The budget resolution and the transfer resolution were approved unanimously. The Board’s actions complete the county’s formal budget adoption process for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025.
Next steps: the Board authorized signatures on the adopted documents, and county officials will publish required notices per state law.
