Plymouth Borough Council approved several routine personnel and payment items at its June 20 special meeting.
Council voted to hire Zachary Roberts as a part-time, at-will street department worker at $12.50 per hour for up to 29 hours per week; the appointment carries no benefits. The vote (motion by William Dixon; second Earl Cunningham) passed unanimously among members present.
Council also approved a series of invoice payments: $7,500 to Brand Graphics for steel poles and lighting for two gateway "Welcome to Plymouth" signs; $3,104.29 to American Asphalt Paving Co. for asphalt used in COG paving; $1,500 to Paper Eaters for a June 8 shred event (Luzerne County will reimburse part of this cost); $2,160 to Scranton Craftsman Inc. for inlet risers, drain frames and steel grates needed in storm-drain repairs (these items are additional to the ongoing Manhole Replace/Repair Project); $2,100 and $5,454.53 to PennEastern Engineers for the Beade Street Project and Coal Creek Wall Project, respectively; and two invoices to John Halliday Trucking Co. ($1,840 and $1,450) totaling $3,290 for truck use during the COG paving process.
All listed payments and the personnel hire were approved by a 5-0 vote with two members absent. The meeting adjourned after the votes.
