Whitpain Board swears in officials and elects 2026 leadership; several appointments confirmed

The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors opened its Jan. 5 reorganization meeting with oaths of office administered by the Hon. Daniel G. Ronca. The judge administered oaths to newly seated and returning officials: Supervisor Kimberly J. Klauder, Supervisor Robert A. Brunner, Tax Collector Melissia C. Wanczyk and auditors Melvin Williams, Sr. and Angel Luis Lozada.
Following the swearing-in, the Board conducted officer elections. Supervisor Kimberly J. Klauder, serving as the reorganization chair, nominated Scott M. Badami as Board Chair; that nomination passed by a 4–1 vote with Supervisor Joyce M. Keller dissenting. Chair Badami then nominated Klauder as Vice Chair (passed 4–1), Robert A. Brunner as Secretary (unanimous), Joyce M. Keller as Treasurer (unanimous), and Sara S. Selverian as Assistant Secretary (unanimous).
The Board approved a consent agenda confirming the township’s 2026 professional appointments and consultant rates, including the Township Solicitor and outside engineering and planning consultants. The appointments and rate schedule were published on the township website prior to the meeting and were approved as part of the consent agenda.
What happens next: staff will publish the Board roster, officers and approved appointment list on the township website and ensure that new appointees receive orientation and contact information as necessary.
