Manalapan resident asks for volleyball-court changes; commission accepts longtime member's resignation

During the April 22 open public forum, Max Bernet of Manalapan addressed the commission with three requests concerning the MJT Park volleyball courts: lower the height of one net to women's height (six inches lower than the standard), install court lines, and consider fencing the pavilion side to prevent balls from rolling into that area.
Commissioners said they would look into lowering a net to the women's height but noted they do not leave lines out because they had been stolen in the past. On the suggestion of fencing the pavilion side, the commission said the space was designed to keep the pavilion area open and that full fencing was unlikely for that side.
Separately, the commission formally acknowledged and thanked Linda Jaye Molee for more than 20 years of dedicated service and accepted her resignation as she begins retirement. The minutes record the commission's appreciation and regret at her departure. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
