Delanco honors municipal clerk Janice Lohr after more than three decades of service

The Delanco Township Committee on Dec. 1 presented a proclamation recognizing Janice Lohr for more than three decades of service as municipal clerk and heard tributes from elected officials, staff and residents.
Reading the proclamation, the mayor noted Lohr began her service on April 1, 1993, and recounted her roles as custodian of municipal records, administrator of elections and secretary to the governing body. "For 33 years, Janice Lohr has done exactly that…You have made Delanco into a better place," the mayor said.
Committee members and staff shared brief remarks about Lohr’s institutional knowledge and steady presence. Solicitor Doug Heinhold said the term "municipal clerk" understates the work Lohr performed and recalled late-night efforts that helped the township in past matters. Township administrator thanked Lohr for her help during the administrator’s first months on the job.
Lohr, who said this was her final meeting and that she expected to be officially out of the office in mid-December, thanked the committee and staff and said she was grateful for the opportunity to serve residents. "I'm going to miss interacting with everyone and the residents," Lohr said.
The committee presented a proclamation and recognized Lohr’s upcoming retirement; no formal personnel action was taken at the meeting.
