Beech Grove awards urban-forestry management contract to Davie Resource Group

The Board of Public Works and Safety on June 1 approved awarding a contract for an urban-forestry management plan, implementation and community engagement work to Davie Resource Group.
Tim Cochran, the city’s DPW director, summarized the RFP and scoring process. A three-person evaluation committee (Kelsey Dell, Tim Cochran and Tom Hannon) reviewed three proposals and applied weighted criteria including grant compliance, technical approach, personnel expertise, budget alignment and community engagement. Cochran said the averaged scores out of 10 were: Davie Resource Group 9.05, Metrc Environmental 8.867 and EOC Environmental 7.917. "Based on the final scoring, it's my recommendation that the Board of Public Works and Safety award the contract for this RFP to Davie Resource Group," Cochran said.
Board members had no further questions; a motion to award the contract to Davie Resource Group was made and carried by voice vote. The project is grant-funded through the Greenscape Commission’s award and will proceed to contract negotiation and scheduling.
The board thanked the other proposers for participating in the procurement process. Staff said contract details, milestones and grant compliance requirements will be brought back for execution and oversight.
