The Town of Sand Lake Planning Board on Jan. 21 unanimously approved a sign placement application from Paula Heller for 43 Slices N’ More at 3563 NY Highway 43 in West Sand Lake. Heller told the board the new sign will be the same size as the previous Brad’s sign, will hang from the existing metal post and will be lit with downward-facing fixtures.
The board first moved, seconded and carried a motion that the Planning Board serve as Lead Agency and then determined the application to be a Type II action under SEQR. After those procedural steps, the board approved the sign placement application by unanimous motion. The minutes record no conditions attached to the approval beyond the lighting style described by the applicant.
The approval allows Heller to install a sign that matches the former business signage in size and location and uses downward lighting, consistent with the board’s stated lighting preferences for hamlet development areas. The decision is recorded in the board’s Jan. 21 resolutions and minutes.
