Vadnais Heights council approves routine administrative designations, consent agenda, and contracts

The Vadnais Heights City Council at its Jan. 6 meeting approved a set of routine administrative and financial items, including the consent agenda, official newspaper designation, bank depositories and signatories, travel and tort policies, and council assignments.
The council approved the consent agenda by motion of Councilmember Kelly Jozwowski, seconded by Erik Goebel. Consent items 8A–8O included approval of claims #87941 through #88037 and electronic claims #2163–#2166, approval of minutes from Dec. 16, 2025, planning commissioner reappointments, professional service agreements (including Short, Elliot, Hendrickson; ABDO auditing services), agreements with Tubman and Northeast Youth and Family Services, donation to the Lions Club Foundation Food Shelf, sale of surplus equipment, permanent easements identified as 2024‑03 (Resolution 26‑01‑01), and final payments to contractors.
Recorded final payments included $10,298.12 to North Valley, Inc. for Street Improvement Project 2025‑01 and $28,900.75 to GM Contracting, Inc. for Street Improvement Project 2025‑02. The council also approved a payment of $6,172.38 to US Bank under claims listed in the consent agenda.
On separate motions the council designated Press Publications as the official newspaper for legal notices, approved a slate of depositories and investment institutions for city funds in 2026, and adopted Resolution 26‑01‑02 designating city bank signatories. The council unanimously approved an out‑of‑state travel policy, statutory tort limits and council assignments for 2026.
Deputy Clerk Phillip Lundquist told the council that Ordinance 793 (Council Compensation) will appear at the first February meeting. Fire Chief Kurt Frison reported two part‑time firefighters are onboarding. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
