Ramsey County deputy reports 154 calls in December; warns of contractor-vehicle thefts

Deputy Craig Lydon told the North Oaks City Council on Jan. 15 that deputies responded to 154 calls in December 2025, including 66 medical calls, eight fire calls, nine traffic stops and nine accidents.
He warned residents and contractors to secure vehicles and garages after an uptick in thefts from contractor vehicles and encouraged residents to call 911 to start an incident record. Lydon said the county’s Flock camera system recently led to an arrest and prevented further criminal activity. He also said the speed cart will be relocated to North Oaks Road in response to resident complaints and that deputies will work with local businesses to identify suitable placement.
Lydon’s advice to residents: lock garage doors, secure vehicles overnight and call 911 to report suspicious vehicles or activity so police can begin a record.
