Vienna planning board approves 2‑lot subdivision on Halstead Road

Interim Chairman Orrin MacMurray called the Town of Vienna Planning Board to order at 7:00 p.m. on April 17, 2025. After routine administrative business, the board opened and quickly closed the public hearing for SUB2025‑01, a 2‑lot subdivision application filed by Kathleen Schofield (represented by Jeff Moore) for property at Halstead Road and Yager Road, described as about 100 acres in RR2/RR1 zoning.
The board reviewed the final plat presented by Jeff Moore and voted to approve SUB2025‑01. Dave Carpenter moved to approve and Bill Shaughnessy seconded; the motion carried on a unanimous poll vote with the five members present. Interim Chairman Orrin MacMurray signed the plats; the applicant will file them with Oneida County.
The board also approved the minutes of the March 20, 2025 meeting (motion by Bill Shaughnessy, seconded by Martha Link) by unanimous poll vote. Following an executive session to interview planning board applicants, the board voted to recommend that the Town Council appoint Miranda Ward to a 2025 term and Tammy Crawford to a 2030 term; that motion was moved by Dave Carpenter, seconded by Martha Link, and carried unanimously. Secretary Kathy Pavelock will invite both recommended appointees to the April 30 special meeting to discuss zoning‑law updates.
