Rothschild board restarts vacation process for Peggy Lane (Hazel St.) and Becker Street; adopts resolutions

The Village of Rothschild on Oct. 14 adopted resolutions to restart the vacation and hearing process for two unused right‑of‑way parcels.
Public Works Administrator Timothy Vergara reviewed prior work at the Becker/Peggy/Schmidt intersection tied to the Pflieger Street reconstruction (2011) and a 2018 review that did not proceed because an adjacent owner at that time declined to acquire the land. Vergara said a new adjacent property owner recently contacted village staff expressing interest in acquiring the parcel labeled OUTLOT 3. The Lis Pendens from 2018 has been closed, Vergara said, and the resolutions would restart the discontinuance/hearing process.
Trustee Bill Schremp moved to approve Resolution 2024‑13 (Peggy Lane, originally Hazel Street); Trustee Paul Kennedy seconded and the motion carried unanimously by roll call. The board then approved Resolution 2024‑14 to discontinue a portion of Becker Street by similar roll call vote.
The minutes record the board’s action to begin the statutory vacation process; public hearings and final land‑transfer steps will follow the resolution and required notice processes.
