Lower Alsace Township supervisors unanimously approved a request to waive a $75 permit fee so a volunteer group can install a handicap ramp for residents on Taft Avenue.
Alice Moyer, representing the nonprofit Little Acts of Love, asked the board for the waiver to support residents who have both mobility and financial challenges. After a brief discussion, Supervisor John Theodossiou moved to waive the fee and Supervisor Todd Weikel seconded. All present voted in favor.
The waiver applies only to the permit fee; the minutes indicate the work will proceed with the required permit documentation. The action was recorded as a formal motion and carried by unanimous vote during the public-comment portion of the Aug. 29 meeting.
The board did not specify construction timing or a contractor; the group and the property owner will proceed with permitting and construction steps under township and building-code requirements.
