At the May 14 meeting the board voted to direct town staff to determine whether the petition is sufficient and to reach out to other owners in the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) as part of the annexation process.
Minutes and the petition exhibit (PA2018‑01) indicate the parcel is currently non‑contiguous to town limits but lies within the town’s ETJ. The petition lists the owner and contact information and notes that the petitioner understands additional costs (advertising, postage) associated with the annexation process will be charged.
Alderman Withers moved to direct staff to determine sufficiency and proceed to ask other owners along the ETJ; Alderman Cearley seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Staff will report back on sufficiency and next procedures in a subsequent meeting.
