Trustees discuss CDBG grant application process; staff to attend Cook County workshop and submit packet

Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla said Public Works Superintendent Jessica Ramirez and Code Enforcement Deputy Clerk Nancy Garcia would attend the Cook County grant workshop on Nov. 13 to submit the grant packet. When Trustee Marco T. Paz asked whether the village requests a specific dollar amount or receives an allocation, Mayor Mazzulla explained that the process requires identifying a project, consulting engineers to calculate costs, and applying for the resulting amount; he added the village had been denied for the past two years.
The meeting record does not show a formal board vote on Resolution 24-08 during this session. Ramirez and Garcia were instructed to attend the workshop and turn in the packet on Nov. 13.
Next steps: staff will attend the Cook County workshop and submit the grant packet; trustees may be asked to approve project selection and funding amounts at a future meeting.
