Bolton Senior Center to help seniors apply for Connecticut Energy Assistance, announces Seniorhood Fair

The Bolton Senior Center will assist local residents with Connecticut Energy Assistance applications and expand referrals and information services, Director of Senior and Social Services Carrie Concatelli told the Senior Citizens Commission at its Sept. 9 meeting.
Concatelli said she published a supplemental newsletter outlining the changes and announced the center’s "Seniorhood Fair" will be held Oct. 25 at Vernon Center Middle School from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The fair is intended to offer workshops, demonstrations, exhibits and resource tables aimed at helping older adults and caregivers plan for and enhance later-life needs.
Commission members noted recurring programs that continue to draw participants, including chair yoga and weekly games, and listed several upcoming outings and social opportunities this fall. The commission described the energy-assistance help as an added service to help seniors access bills and benefit programs through application assistance and referrals to partner agencies.
The commission did not provide a detailed breakdown of staffing or funding for the new assistance service; staff directed interested residents to contact the Bolton Senior Center for signup and details. The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2025.
