Bolton wetlands commission approves drainage project at 87 Brandy Street

The Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission voted to approve a Town of Bolton drainage project at 87 Brandy Street, authorizing removal of an existing headwall, the installation of a catch basin and a 250-foot high-density polyethylene (HDPE) drainage pipe to a constructed farm pond, plus associated grading and erosion-control measures.
Town Engineer Joseph Dillon explained the revised plan addresses the commission’s prior concerns by providing adequate pipe coverage, replacing an existing scour hole and adding staked straw bales for sediment control. Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso described the permit as including annual cleaning of the catch basin and maintenance of the easement.
The commission moved and seconded the approval and carried the motion unanimously. The approval was made in accordance with the plan of record dated March 2025 and revised July 29, 2025.
Why it matters: the work is intended to route drainage into the farm pond and reduce localized scour and erosion at this location. The commission recorded requirements for erosion-control measures and routine maintenance as part of the approval.
