The Chanceford Township Board reviewed road and equipment work and approved advertising the township’s 2026–2027 material and equipment bid at its March 9 meeting.
Roadmaster Kent Heffner reported the road crew completed a culvert pipe replacement on Warner Road, including installation of a large pipe and new precast headwalls; the segment is scheduled for paving in spring. Heffner also said township crews have been filling potholes on dirt roads and that J&L Lawncare assisted with removal of hazardous trees.
Engineer Grant Anderson told the board Warner Road is in the construction phase. He reported Scout Camp Road has cleared the PNDI review and updated plans were resubmitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; Glen Allen School Road was also resubmitted to PA DEP for review. Heffner noted a CAT 299D will be active on Municibid on March 23, 2026.
The board voted to advertise the 2026–2027 Material and Equipment Bid (motion by Kent Heffner; second by Bradley Smith) to solicit supplies and equipment services for the coming year.
Why it matters: the work advances prioritized road repairs and maintenance procurement for the township and signals upcoming equipment disposition and procurement cycles.
What’s next: the road crew will continue repairs and prepare Warner Road for paving; material and equipment bids will be advertised for competitive response.
