Cheyenne County commissioners accept Human Services director's resignation, review annex plans and approve hires, permits and rental agreement

The Cheyenne County Board of County Commissioners on May 19 accepted the resignation of Human Services Director Jane Tallman and conducted a series of routine approvals and project updates.
Commissioner RJ Jolly moved, and Commissioner Rick Pelton seconded, to accept Tallman's resignation; the motion passed. The board briefly recessed and reconvened before taking up other business.
University Technical Assistant Program students presented their final design for a proposed Courthouse Annex; the board thanked the students for their work. County staff noted the annex project may qualify for an Underfunded Courthouse Grant and said plans will be forwarded to Judge Tarryn Johnson for review.
On personnel and approvals, the commissioners voted to hire Kooper Brossman at $17.00 per hour for a summer maintenance position at the fairgrounds. The board approved Secure Transportation permits for Centennial Mental Health Center, Inc., and approved a rental space agreement with Phirelink/Rebeltec pending discussed amendments. Commissioners reviewed expense vouchers and warrants and discussed changing regular meeting start times to 9:30 a.m. with quarterly elected official meetings at 9:00 a.m.
No new ordinances were introduced; the board took no further formal action on the annex beyond accepting the student presentation and exploring grant eligibility.
