Bernalillo council approves applying for NMDOT TPF funds for Calle Industrial and Camino Del Bosque improvements

The Bernalillo Governing Body on May 11 approved Resolution 05/11/2026A authorizing the town to apply to the New Mexico Department of Transportation, District Three, for Transportation Project Fund (TPF) support for improvements to Calle Industrial and Camino Del Bosque.
Terri Gray, Finance Director, presented the resolution and said the town will provide a 5% local match if the project is selected. The scope described in the resolution covers design and construction of roadway, drainage and utility improvements from Camino Del Pueblo (NM 337) to the end of town limits on the listed streets.
Mayor Jack Torres executed the authorization language in the resolution, which commits the town to the matching funds specified in the application. Councilor Torres-Quintana moved to approve and Councilor Montoya seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous.
The action formally puts the project before NMDOT for the 2026/2027 TPF cycle; if the town later receives an award, construction planning, design and procurement would follow NMDOT and state procurement rules and the 5% local match would be budgeted.
