Councilor Montoya moved to approve the resolution and Councilor Torres-Quintana seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous. The resolution amends Special Fund account 20290-0001-476990 (State Grant) and establishes an equipment expenditure at 20290-3002-580200 to reflect the award. No additional details about planned equipment purchases were presented at the meeting.
This action will allow Town staff to submit reimbursement requests and record the grant award in fiscal year 2025–2026. Town staff said follow-up reporting and procurement will follow department and DFA (Department of Finance & Administration) requirements.
The council took no other action on fire-station construction funding at the meeting; Mayor Jack Torres later said a protest of bids for the new fire station has delayed that larger procurement and the town is pursuing Plan B.
