Resident reports streetlight outage; councilwoman pledges follow-up

At the Jan. 7 Wallington Mayor and Council meeting, resident John Rebecky of 269 Hathaway Street told officials that a streetlight at the end of First Street has been nonfunctional for months despite prior reports to the Borough Clerk’s Office and multiple submissions to PSE&G.
The minutes record that Mr. Rebecky told the council the problem had been reported to the Clerk several months earlier and that the Clerk’s Office had submitted multiple reports to PSE&G, “however the light remains out.” Councilwoman Beata Balik responded that she would follow up with PSE&G regarding the matter. No estimate for repair or timeline was recorded in the minutes, and no further public-comments speakers came forward.
The comment was taken during the Hearing of Citizens portion of the reorganization session; the meeting proceeded to business and adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
