East Bradford Township’s Board of Historical Architectural Review recommended approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness on Oct. 13 for an in-ground pool, concrete deck and safety fence at 603 Swallow Lane in the Taylor Cope Historic District.
The application, submitted by property owner Timothy Heindl, proposes a 16-by-32-foot inground pool and a concrete deck totaling 1,151 square feet of impervious surface in the rear yard. The plan also includes a 4-foot code-compliant fence with mesh and outward-opening gates.
HARB members reviewed the proposal’s location and the surrounding historic properties, including nearby Class 1 resources on Strasburg Road, and concluded the work is permitted by-right. “All members agreed the proposal does not compromise the integrity of the historic district,” the record states.
Richard Buchanan moved to recommend approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness; John Marshall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The board recommended no changes to the application.
