The Cedar Falls City Council on April 6 approved two grant-contract resolutions with Cedar Falls Housing Trust Fund II (CFHTF) to support housing programs in the city.
Item 14 authorized a contract for a tenant-based rent and deposit assistance program; item 15 authorized a contract for an owner-occupied repair program. Councilmembers noted the Housing Commission’s ongoing work to expand local housing supports. "It's good to see that some of the stuff moving through that we've worked on for a long time," Councilmember Fairbanks said, referring to the trust fund and related programs.
Both items were approved separately by roll-call vote; the clerk recorded all members voting aye. Council did not receive public comment on either item.
Staff indicated these actions will allow the CFHTF to administer the programs under the terms of the contracts and return to council with implementation details as needed.
