Trustees for Lexington County School District 3 unanimously approved a request on April 21 for Batesburg-Leeville Middle School (BLMS) Junior Beta Club students to attend the National Junior Beta Club Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, June 23–27, 2026.
Miss Lindsay, one of the BLMS sponsors, told the board that six students, seven parents, two teachers, one administrator and three family guests plan to attend; parents and individual attendees will handle transportation and hotel costs, while the school will cover registration fees. Miss Lindsay said total registration comes to $950, and one sponsor registration is waived by national Beta because the chapter is bringing more than five students.
Mr. Kaufman moved approval and Miss Ethridge seconded. With no further discussion, the chair called the vote and the motion carried unanimously.
The board welcomed the students and wished them well at the convention; no additional financial approvals or conditions were recorded during the meeting.
