Main Street coordinator outlines downtown projects; $15,000 lighting quote and cemetery work among priorities

Vargas said she will obtain additional quotes for cemetery electrical work and will bring documentation to the board. She also described immediate event planning: a Spring Downtown Market and a recurring marketplace starting June 20 with a $20 vendor registration fee. The Main Street team has been preparing supplies, promotional materials, and is coordinating with parks and public works for benches, pots and other beautification assets.
Board members reviewed beautification funding and asked staff to provide a work plan and cost estimates. Staff reported $47,833 remaining in the beautification allocation and said only about $12,000 has been spent so far this fiscal year; members asked staff to prioritize facade and property-improvement projects that can be funded in the remaining months of the fiscal year.
