During the board meeting the superintendent announced the district received a $327,000 federal grant designated for school safety and said the district is pursuing additional funding, including a Transportation Alternatives grant and funding for school bus stop-arm cameras that require a local match.
Activities Director and head coach Bill Magnuson thanked the board and community for support of the football program and reported high engagement in extracurricular activities. On newly authorized programs, Magnuson said Esports participation exceeded expectations and debate has a full schedule, noting these activities reach students who might not participate in other programs.
The superintendent also summarized results of a staff survey conducted at the start of the school year with 183 respondents. Leadership highlighted strong positive responses about working in the district and the quality of education, while identifying two areas for follow-up: school-building cleanliness and student respect for staff. Leadership said building-level teams will analyze the results and report back to district leadership with potential actions.
Superintendent and principals also thanked staff who organized the Veterans Day program, praising performances by the band and choir and strong community turnout. The district received smaller donations and grants to support activities (see donations resolution).
